Doris A. Moss, 73, of Republic, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, in OSU Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Doris was born March 13, 1941, in Buckhannon, to Hugh and Mattie G. (Siron) Shobe.
On Feb. 12, 1971, she married Kenneth Moss in Tampa, Fla. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel K. (Terri) Smallwood, of Hurricane and Aeric K. (Tina Groves) Smallwood, of Republic, Ohio; and two brothers, William F. (Nancy) Shobe, of Buckhannon, and David H. (Becky) Shobe, of
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth D. Moss; and her parents, Hugh and Mattie Shobe.
Doris owned and operated Kay’s Beauty Salon in Republic, Ohio, for 47 years. She was an avid sprint car and NASCAR fan, and her favorite drivers were Steve Kinser and Dale Earnhardt. She enjoyed visiting and taking care of her house and farm in West Virginia, and she also enjoyed collecting antiques. Doris was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary 3663 in Buckhannon.
Her funeral services in Bloomville, Ohio will be today at 11 a.m. at Lindsey – Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. State Route 19, Bloomville, Ohio, with Pastor Clarence Edward Mullins Jr. officiating.Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lindsey – Olds Funeral Home. Services also will be at Straight Fork United Methodist at Rock Cave Friday, June 27, at noon. Burial will follow in Straight Fork United Methodist Cemetery in Rock Cave. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Friday at the church.
