The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5-8 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Friday, June 6, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Todd Rhodes will officiate, and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.

Edith Lucille Bright Bonner, 84, a resident of the Elk community, Dryfork, departed this life late Monday evening, June 2, 2014, in Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins, surrounded by her family. She had been in declining health.

She was born Sunday, Jan. 19, 1930, at Hendricks, a daughter of the late Garber Lee and Evelyn Ruth Jackson Bright.

On June 18, 1947, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Ernest Franklin Bonner Jr., who preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2002.

Surviving are one daughter, Jean Ann Hedrick and husband, Jack, of Stringtown; four sisters, Dorothy Day, Eleanor Carr, Betty Cogar and Carol Kendall and husband, Kirby, all of Baltimore, Md.; three grandsons, Scott Hedrick and wife, Kristen, Justin Bonner and Joshua Bonner; two granddaughters, Amy Hedrick Simmons and husband, Thomas, and Brittany Bonner; and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Hedrick.

Preceding her in death were one son, Gary Ernest Bonner, who preceded her in death Aug. 13, 2007; and two sisters, Wanda Wilfong and Helen Moran.

She attended Hendricks Grade School. She was a homemaker, a babysitter and a very talented seamstress, and she enjoyed making dresses and dolls. She loved to work outside in her yard and in the garden. She was an avid cook and canned.
