Larry Wayne Cutright, 72, of Buckhannon passed away at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous journey with pulmonary


He was born in Buckhannon, on Dec. 21, 1941, a son of the late Ralph Elmer Cutright and Amelia Irene Griffith Cutright.

Larry’s compassion and love for life will be carried on by his wife and his three children, Larry Cutright Jr. and wife, Tammy, and Charles Cutright, all of Buckhannon and Kathy Jo Smith and husband, Ronald, of Belington; seven grandchildren, Shaun, Seth and Sammy Cutright of Buckhannon, Junior and Alicia Smith of Belington, and Ramble and Charlie Cutright of Buckhannon; four stepchildren, Kimberly Fisher and husband, Neil, of Cambridge N.Y., Faith Wofford and husband, Greg, of Scarbourough Maine, Alan Turner II and wife, Stephanie, of Mobile, Ala., and Byron Turner and wife, Susan, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; eight stepgrandchildren, Patrick and Emily Fisher, Ben and Mike Wofford and Andrew, Sara, Lily, and Chloe Turner; one brother, Terry Cutright and wife, Brenda, of Buckhannon; three sisters: Jean Harris and husband, Lynn, of Saratoga, Fla., June Mahoney and husband, Kenny, of Kingwood and Linda Able and husband, Stephen, of Buckhannon; and his beloved chihuahua, Little Dude, and poodle, Lady Victoria.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Helen Heavner Cutright.

Larry was an honored veteran of the United States Army and National Guard. He later retired from a long career as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Franklin 7 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Osiris Shriner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, bird watching and prospecting for gold and gems.

Larry’s request for cremation has been honored, and his family will have a private celebration of life service at a later date.
