Dora G. Winkler

Dora G. Winkler, 78, of Old Elkins Road, Buckhannon, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at her home.

She was born in Elkins, on March 22, 1936, a daughter of the late Nolan and Maude Salsberry Hamrick.

She was united in marriage on April 16, 1958, to Blaine E. Winkler, who survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Portia Fortney of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Reed, and one brother, Bryan Hamrick.

Mrs. Winkler attended the Nazarene Church of Elkins, was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans in Kentucky, and was a graduate of the University of Hard Knocks.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 30, from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Terry Burgess and the Rev. Gary Mallonee officiating. Private interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown.
