Maxine Ricottilli

Mrs. Maxine P. (Herron) Ricottilli, 80, a resident of Belington, departed this life at 7:50 p.m.. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown following a lengthy illness.

She was born Nov. 7, 1933, at Belington, a daughter of the late Delbert Lee Herron and Bertha Vest Herron, who survives at Belington.

On Jan. 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to Joseph Paul Ricottilli Sr., who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1969.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son Joseph Paul Ricottilli Jr. and wife, Frances; one daughter, Vickie Kittle and husband, David, all of Belington; two brothers, Harold L. Herron and wife, Jenny and Russell E Herron; three sisters, Dottie Carpenter, Karen Carpenter and husband, Larry, and Janet K. Hoffman and husband, Gary, all of Belington.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jeremy Kittle and wife, Chrystal, and Melissa Poling and husband, Brad, all of Belington; and two great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Andrew Kittle.

In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Delbert Herron and Larry J. Herron; and one sister, Donna June Herron.

Mrs. Ricottilli was a 1952 graduate of Belington High School and formerly worked in the dietary department at the Good Samaritan Society in Belington and lastly was employed by North Central Area Aging Agency of Upshur County as a senior companion.

Mrs. Ricottilli was a member of the St. Brenden’s Catholic Church of Elkins, and was a life- time member of the Laurel Mountain Post 410 VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Belington. She enjoyed gardening, search-word puzzles and sewing.

There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, conducted from the St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery at Kingsville near Belington with the Father J. Stephen Vallelonga officiating. Interment will then follow.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
