Betty Bailey

Betty Lee Bailey, 86, of French Creek, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, in St. Joseph’s Hospital NCF in Buckhannon.

She was born June 11, 1928, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Elmon and Stella Miller Black.

On Nov. 3, 1952, she married Claude “Bud” Bailey, who preceded her in death Feb. 3, 2003.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Black; two grandsons, Christopher Michael Woody and Jacob Israel Poling; and one granddaughter, Rose Amy Poling.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Lee and husband, the Rev. Gerald, and Debbie Woody and fiance, Roy Workman, all of French Creek, Linda Bailey of Bridgeport and Melissa Adamy and husband, Shawn, of Elkins; special daughter, Debbie Vangleson of Bridgeport; one son, Randy Bailey and wife, Renee, of French Creek; nine grandchildren, Misty Woody of Fairmont, Corrina Smarr and husband, Nathan, of Buckhannon, Ashlynn and Madison Bailey and Casey Kelley and husband, the Rev. Brandon, all of French Creek, Jessica Casto and husband, Chad, of Woodbridge, Va., Sarah and Alexis Lee, both of French Creek and Lauren Poling of Elkins; seven grandsons, B.J. Bailey and wife, Heather, of French Creek, Jeremy Lee and wife, Carrie, of Rock Cave, Jayse Bailey, Jonathan and Thomas Lee, all of French Creek, Jordan Taylor of Elkins and Scott Morris of Bridgeport; 14 great-granddaughters, Kayla Woody of French Creek, Kylee Woody of Buckhannon, Gabrielle and Victoria Epp, both of French Creek, Emily and Molly Fox, Lucy, Payton and Delaney Smarr, all of Buckhannon, Bethany and Rachel Lee, both of Rock Cave and Kristen, Taylor and Sophie Kelley, all of French Creek; 12 great-grandsons, Jonathan Woody and fiancee, Sara Loudin, of Horner, Ian Woody of Fairmont, Jared Bailey of Buckhannon, Cameron Bailey of French Creek, Dylan Fox of Buckhannon, Isaiah Lee of Rock Cave, Lyle Kelley of French Creek and Austin, Andrew, Jack, Jace and Reid Casto, all of Woodbridge, Va.; one great-great-granddaughter, Maggie Woody of Horner; and one great-great-grandson, Mason Woody of Horner.

Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and a member of Faith Tabernacle Church of Buckhannon.

Friends will be received today from 4-9 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Lee and the Rev. Brandon Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery in

Buckhannon.
