Harry William Satterfield Jr.
Harry William Satterfield Jr., 72, a resident of Center Hill Road, Philippi passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, from injuries sustained in a roadster that he built and loved.
He was born Feb. 2, 1944, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Harry William Satterfield Sr. and Martha Ellen (Brannon) Satterfield.
Harry was thrice married; first to Mary (Carini) Dutchess, second to Carla Sue (Sansbury) Nestor and third to Barbara K. (Waugaman) Ridenour Satterfield.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sacha Nicole Carpenter and husband, Ronald, of Parkersburg and Mariah Victoria Titus and husband, Joshua, of Lumberport; two sons, Shane Anderson Satterfield and wife, Michelle, of Los Angeles and Jesse Ray Satterfield and friend, Brooke Rutter, of Elkins; mother-in-law, Janice Waugaman of Volga; and grandchildren, Carmen Elizabeth Bowes and friend, Sam Taylor, of Morgantown, Joshua Spencer Bowes and friend, Kelly Talbot, of Elkins, Zachariah Zeke Carpenter, Emily Brook Carpenter, Seth Archer Titus, Vera Ann Titus and one expected granddaughter in November.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kellie Christine Satterfield
Harry was a cement finisher, a coal miner and built cars since he was 13 years; and he was an auto restorer and custom auto painter. After retirement he built a 1924 track t- roadster with a supra engine and running gears.
Harry enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 220 N. Walnut St. in Philippi Saturday from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 2, from 3-6 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Ruston Seaman. In honor of Harry’s request, cremation will follow.
