Linda Louise Channell Hedrick, 54, a resident of Elkins, departed this life peacefully Thursday morning, Dec. 08, 2016. at her home. She had been in declining health.

She was born Tuesday, July 3, 1962, at Philippi, a daughter of the late William Eugene and Dorothy L. Montgomery Channell.

On Jan. 18, 1979, at Elkins, she was married to Roger Leon Hedrick, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Roger Leon Hedrick Jr. and wife, Tina, of Elkins and Jeffrey Allen Hedrick and wife, Cassandra, of Elkins; two brothers, Gary Channell and wife, Norma, of Montrose and Dale Channell of Elkins; two sisters, Regina Boyles and husband, Benny, of Elkins and Brenda Coffman of Belington; and six grandchildren, Roger III, Jacob, Anthony, Kyle, Olivia and Alivana.

Preceding her in death is one brother, Roger Channell.

She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1979, had worked as a nurses aid at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center and later as a clerk at Mountaineer Mart for 17 years. Linda enjoyed playing bingo. She would travel and play bingo at various locations, and one of her all-time favorite places to play was the Leading Creek Volunteer Fire Department, where she was named an “honorary player.”

The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5-8 p.m. Sunday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home Monday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Randy Montgomery will officiate, and interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Country Club Road. A meal will take place at Leading Creek Volunteer Fire Department following the services.
