Carla Louise Taylor Armstrong

Carla Louise Taylor Armstrong, 51, a resident of Huttonsville, passed from this life Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at home.

Carla was born Wednesday, July 28, 1965, in Elkins, a daughter of Evelyn May Gibson and Donald Lee Taylor and stepmother, Marie Taylor, all surviving in Mill Creek. On Feb. 14, 1981, in Mill Creek, she married Paul “Sparky” Armstrong Jr. who survives in Huttonsville. They recently celebrated 36 years of marriage.

Also left to cherish her memory are two children, Shelley Nichole Armstrong-Negron and husband Nicky of York, Pa., and Shawn Paul Armstrong and wife Brandi Nicole of Mill Creek; three siblings, Rhonda Lynn Taylor and companion Mike Tacy of Huttonsville, Ricky Allen Taylor and wife Kathy of Huttonsville and Chad Dylan Taylor and wife Casi of Mill Creek; six grandchildren, Jasmine, Junito (Nicky) and Melissa Negron, Milady Rivera, Charlie and Jenny Brown; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two step sisters, Serena Arbogast and husband Ronnie of Huttonsville and Jessica Cassell and husband Jeff of Mill Creek; several sisters in law, Carla Taylor, Cookie, Tina, Ginger, Joyce and Sherri; special nephews and nieces, Steven, Zachary, Melissa, Courtney, Timmy, Kimberly, Robbie, and Tara; and special friends, Jeff and Jennifer Ratliff.

Preceding Carla in death was one brother, Robert Lee Taylor; step father, Harold Gibson; grandparents, Olan and Myrtle McCauley and Kenny and Effie Taylor; mother and father in law, Paul and Opal Armstrong; and sister in law, Robin Armstrong.

Carla attended the schools of Randolph County and previously co-owned Carla’s Custom Cleaning with her husband. When she was younger, she really liked playing softball. Carla enjoyed shopping at Tyrand Parish and being outside. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them. Carla considered her friends to be like family. From the time they were teenagers, she enjoyed spending time with the love of her life, Sparky. Carla never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Pastor Norma Gibson will officiate and interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville.
