Gregory Mark Lanham
Pastor Gregory Mark Lanham, age 53 years, a former resident of Mabie, for many years and a current resident of Harper, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, in the Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley. He was born February 25, 1963, at Pinehurst, North Carolina, the son of Cecil Lanham of Montrose and the late Dorothy Cornell Lanham. On June 16, 1984 at Mt. Clare, he was married to Deborah M. “Debi” Hayhurst, who survives.
Also surviving is one son, Benjamin Lanham and wife Stephanie of Aiken, S.C., a daughter, Vanessa Klingler and husband Robert of Milton; three brothers, Kevin Lanham and wife Janet of Amelia Courthouse, Virginia, Ronald Lanham and wife Diane of Montrose and Pastor Chris Lanham and wife Rachel of Jackson, Mich., one sister, Kim Porter of Beverly, step-mother, Joy Lanham, Montrose, mother-in-law, Katrina Bise and husband Frank, sisters-in-law, Melissa McIntyre and husband Joey, Penny Stewart and husband Mark, Holly Trader and husband Danny, Susie Mayle and Chuck, Dottie Weaver and Chad, Jenny Johnson and Randy and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Also preceding him in death was his father-in-law, Joseph Hayhurst, whose wife Debbie resides in Fairmont. Gregg was the pastor of the GracePointe Fellowship Church at Harper, and was also an employee of Allegheny Wood Products where he was employed as the chief lumber inspector. He had served as pastor of the Harrison Community Church at Mabie for 23 years prior to moving to Harper. He was a member of the Wabash Conference FM USA, the Emmaus and Chrysalis Community, the Kairos Prison Ministry and participated in Haiti Mission Trips.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tim Turner, Pastor Chris Lanham and Pastor Sherman Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Rowan Memorial Cemetery at Mabie. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the GracePointe Fellowship Church at Harper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Free Methodist Church – USA, 770 N. High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46214 in memory of Gregg. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Pastor Gregory Mark Lanham.
