Mary Ruth Cooper

Mary Ruth Cooper, 90, of Harman, passed away Feb. 17, 2017, at her home surrounded by family. She was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Harman, a daughter of the late Frank Lee and Phoebe Alice Sites Wymer. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001, Klare Cooper; also preceding her in death, five sisters, Doris Janda, Leona Harman, Josephine White, Gae Cooper, and Jessie Cooper White, one brother, Frank “Buzz” Wymer, and two nephews, Don Cooper and Gary Harman. She is survived by one sister, Velma Cooper, Harman, numerous nieces and nephews, Beverly (Robert) Eye, Harman, Norma (Harold) Thompson, Harman, Jennifer (J.D.) Dodd, Harman, Rhonda Cooper and Herman Armentrout, Harman, Sherry Cooper and Denver Vance, Harman, Mitch Cooper, Harman, Barbara (Larry) Shifflett, Gallipolis, Ohio, Charlette (Tom) Vance, Harman, Kent Cooper, Circleville, Dwight (Janet) Cooper, Harman, Van and Billie Wymer, Joplin, Maryland, Jack and Jeannie White, Maryland, Doug wymer, Maryland, Eugene Wymer, Maryland, and Janice Wymer, Maryland.

Mrs. Cooper worked for Cooper & Son Store, and Stockmans Bank as a bookkeeper. She attended the Harman Presbyterian Church. She was a member of O.E.S. Chapter No. 43, VFW Post 5781 Ladies Auxiliary of Harman. She enjoyed gardening, making pies and ginger cookies. She enjoyed spending time with family’s children, reading her Bible. She stayed busy and active to the end of her life.

Friends will be received, Monday, Feb. 20, from 5-8 p.m. at Harman Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held, 11 a.m., Feb. 21, at Harman Presbyterian Church with Rev. Grey Hinkle officiating. Interment will follow in the Cooper Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
