Patricia ‘Patty’ Lane Dunham

Patricia “Patty” Lane Dunham, 76, of Elkins, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born Oct. 11, 1940, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Harry Basil and Martha Dot Weese Dunham of Elkins.

Patty is survived by three sisters, Anna Ruth Wetzel and husband, Robert Cottrill, of Elkins, Mary Diane Smith of Morgantown and Elizabeth Carol Collins and husband, Buzz Collins, of Elkins; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Patty was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1958. She was employed for years with the Randolph County Board of Education at Elkins Middle School and North Elementary, until the time of her retirement. Patty was an avid cook/baker and loved to prepare family dinners. She was famous for her peanut butter fudge and apple dumplings.

Patty neither married nor had children, but she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and her dog, Thor.

Honoring Patty’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Elkins Memorial Gardens, formerly IOOF Cemetery in Elkins.
