Mr. Ronald Ray “Tinker” Wilmoth, 69, a resident of the Chestnut Flatts community near Belington, departed this life Saturday evening, Feb. 18, 2017, in the Hospice Unit at Latrobe Area Hospital in Latrobe, Pa. He had been declining in health for the past year.

He was born Dec. 1, 1947, at Lewis County, a son of the late Jacob Karl and Nell Melba Goodwin Wilmoth.

On May 23, 1971, at Belington, he was united in marriage to the former Loretta June Suder, who survives at their home near Belington.

He is also survived by two sons, Eric Wilmoth, United States Navy, and wife, Lori, of Italy, and Jason Wilmoth and wife, Kim; two daughters, Amy Police and husband, Tony, and Lora Harris and husband, Frank, all of Belington; one sister, Linda Knight and husband, Denver, of Weston; and four brothers, John “Benny” Goodwin and wife, Martha, and Lawrence Goodwin, all of Weston, Delane McDaniel of Philippi and Dana Booth and wife, Pam, of Belington. Additional survivors are seven grandchildren; Dylan Harris, United States Army, Kayla Harris, Jacob Harris, Kyrstin Carter, Cari Police, Anna Wilmoth and Donovan Wilmoth. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by one sister, Nellie Goodwin; and one brother, Ralph Goodwin.

Tinker attended the schools of Barbour County, and was a graduate of the Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1969, and he was a member of Belington Church of Christ. He had been previously employed as a coal miner at Badger Coal Co., Bethlehem Coal Co., Valley Camp Coal Co. of Wheeling and Ingersolll Rand in Texas, as an electrician. He was also employed at Mongold Lumber Co. and the Glass factory. His most recent employment, from which he retired, was Trust-Joist McMillian, now known as Weyerhaeuser, in the maintenance department as an electrician. He was a former member of the Belington Volunteer Fire Department, Belington Emergency Squad and Belington Police Reserve. He was also a member of the Mine Rescue Team and the United Mine Workers of America District 31 Union. He loved anything that involved music and also collected harmonicas.

He also enjoyed collecting marbles and was an avid, hunter, fisherman and gardener. He looked forward to the spring of the year when he could go ramp harvesting.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved his family very much and loved when everyone would get together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received from Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg St. in Belington Thursday, Feb. 23, from 5-9 p.m. and again Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour where final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Sam Bartrug officiating. Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery.
