Ronnie Gene McCauley, 53, a resident of Route 1, Elkins, passed away at 3:56 p.m. March 1, 2017, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. He was born Oct. 21, 1963, at Jackson, New Jersey, a son of the late Virgil Gale McCauley and Rosa Bevean Shiflett McCauley.

He was formerly married to Amy McCauley, who survives at Elkins. Also surviving are his two special boys, Travis Hilborn of Twentynine Palms, California, and Jadam “Rooty” McCauley of Elkins; five brothers, Don Wayne McCauley of Dailey, who was a special brother, Gary McCauley of Wallace, Robert McCauley of Elkins, Dennis McCauley of Montrose and Keith McCauley of Worden, Montana; and one sister, Sharon Cross of Elkins. Several special nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Roger, Jerry and Gale McCauley.

Ronnie was a graduate of Elkins High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked for Tygart Valley Sanitation before becoming disabled. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a former member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and had attended Hart Chapel Church as a child. Ronnie’s request for cremation was honored. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon Wednesday, March 8, at Tomblyn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Shreve officiating.
