Sandra Kay Bolinger Pennington

Sandra Kay Bolinger Pennington, 65, a resident of Hendricks, departed this life Friday evening, March 17, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Virginia Caring. She had been in declining health since November.

She was born Monday, Oct. 1, 1951, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Clarence Russell Bolinger Sr. and Catherine Josephine Huffman Bolinger.

On Dec. 7, 1970, at Hendricks, she was married to Larry Grant Pennington I, who survives. They had celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Also surviving are one son, Larry Grant Pennington II and fiance, Kristen Hedrick, of Hendricks; two daughters, Barbara Ann Pennington, of Dry Fork, and Lori Jean Kuykendall and husband, William, of Hendricks; three brothers, Clarence R. “John” Bolinger Jr., and wife, Donna, of Hendricks, Lakin Lee Bolinger and wife, Slona, and Richard “Dick” Bolinger and wife, Willetta, all of Parsons; five sisters, Betty Jean Hebb, of Ohio, Virginia Mae Carr and husband, Lowell, Flodie Louise Lawrence, all of Hendricks, Ruby Jeanette McCrum and husband, Mike, of Parsons, and Mary Frances Booth and husband, Daniel, of Mackeyville; 12 grandchildren, Britt, Kate, Haley, Mariah, Levi, Shane, Hines, Kyle, Jayha, Jessa, Treasure and Lilly; and three great-grandchildren, Savannah Hailee and Sophia.

Preceding her in death are one granddaughter, Abbigayle Paige Pennington; and one sister, Grace Ann Lee.

She attended the schools of Tucker County. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Tucker County Senior Center and evenings at the former P&C Market in Hambleton.

She attended the Hendricks Free Methodist Church.

Sandy loved to take rides in the car with Larry just looking at the country views and along the “River Road.” She lived for and loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

A private family gathering for visitation and a celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home. Pastor Adam Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Fansler Cemetery at Hendricks.
