Timothy Edward “Tim” Niemenski, 47, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Friday, March 24, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family and under the care of Mt. Hospice.

Tim was born Sept. 26, 1969, in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Stanley Howard Niemenski and Carol Lipscomb Godfrey, who survives in Parsons.

On July 14, 2015, he was married to the former Jill Elaine McDonald, who survives.

Others left to cherish Tim’s memory are one stepson, Connor Evick; three siblings, Jennie Sue Smith of Parsons, Tarry Ann Williams and husband, EJ, of Grafton and Stanley “Skipper” Niemenski Jr, and wife, Mary Lou, of Parsons; a special nephew that Tim treated as a brother, Sheldon “Peewee” Niemenski; two special nieces, Shannon Marie McDonald and husband, John Wayne, and Staci Smith; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding Tim in death was his stepfather, who raised him, Jim Godfrey.

Tim was a graduate of Tucker County High School with the class of 1988, and had served in the United States Navy. Tim had attended various trade schools and had worked as a mechanic on aircraft in New York and had obtained his CDL license. He had been disabled for many years, having had a heart transplant in 2005. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR, and he enjoyed camping, riding the side by side, mechanical work and scuba diving. Tim was the first transplant recipient to receive a scuba diving certificate. He also enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motor cycles. Tim had an infectious smile and enjoyed having fun amid his many illnesses. He was a member of the Parsons Church of God.

Tim’s request for cremation was honored. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at the Parsons Church of God on Saturday, April 1, at 1 p.m. Pastor Dave Snyder will officiate, and inurnment will take place at a later date.
