Robert Leon Carr

Robert Leon Carr, 75, of Thomas, died Saturday, April 22, 2017, at home after a long illness.

He was born in Thomas, October 29, 1941, a son of the late Willis H. and Sylvia White Carr.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Noah Carr and Charles Carr; and two sisters, Ruth Mercante and Rosalie Ford.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Roush Carr; son, Robert Carr Jr.; stepson, Eric Roush of West Virginia; four daughters, Tara (Steve) Lonberger of Virginia, Amanda (James) Spalding of Indiana, Rosetta Carr of Delaware, Anita Amorosa of Maryland; and 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Carr was a drywall finisher, painter and a retired coal miner. He was a member of Thomas United Methodist Church and Mountain Top Hunt Club. He was a great outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received Wednesday, April 26, at Hinkle Funeral Home from noon until 1 p.m., the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headly officiating.
