Jacob Mack Kyle, 80, a former resident of Elkins, and more recently a resident of Bradenton, Florida, departed this life late Monday evening, May 22, 2017, in Manatee Memorial Hospital at Bradenton, Florida. He had been in declining health for the past 10 days.

He was born Friday, Dec. 11, 1936, at Elkins, a son of the late John W. and Lena Griffith Kyle.

Surviving are one son, Jacob Mack Kyle Jr. of West Farmington, Ohio; three daughters, Donna M. Pyle and Vicky A. Myers and husband, Dan, all of Bradenton, Florida, and Emma L. Degan and husband, Greg, of Ravenna, Ohio; two sisters, Iris Newman and husband, Don, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Betty Krajewski of Brunswick, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Casey, Corey, Cathryn, Cody, Tassey, Tabbitha, Heather and Ashley; and six great-grandchildren, Madison, Oliver, Jin, Alex, Mason and Ella.

Preceding him in death are one brother, John Kyle; and one sister, Bernice.

He attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Ford Motor Co. at Cleveland, Ohio, and retired as a line foreman for Rheem Corp. He was a member of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Degree of Honor. He was an artist and enjoyed drawing and painting. In his spare time he tinkered on TVs and automobiles.

The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins Tuesday, May 30, from 5-8 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery at Cravensdale, where the West Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard Program, H.W. Daniel’s Post 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct full military honors. The Rev. Kevin Gainer will officiate, and interment will follow.
