Leon C. Wilson

Leon C. Wilson, 75, a resident of Beverly, passed away Thursday evening, June 22, 2017, in Nella’s Inc., following an extended illness.

He was born April 9, 1942, at Fairfax, Virginia, a son of the late Burley Wilson and the late Lorine Gill Wilson Rader.

On June 30, 1977, at Cumberland, Maryland, he was married to Pamela Jo Swecker Wilson, who survives at Beverly. The Wilson’s would have celebrated 40 years of marriage June 30.

Also surviving are two sons, Chad Lee Wilson and partner, Gary Nehls, of Mill Creek and Shane Lee Dysart of North Carolina; two daughters, Chasity Dawn McCauley and husband, Brad, of Mill Creek and Shannon Lorine Dysart of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Dakota Lee Arbogast, Zachary, Joel, Gracie and Luke McCauley, Amber Dysart and Arionna Liberati; one brother, Steven Wayne Wilson and wife, Donna, of Dailey; four sisters, Ruby Channel and husband, Roger, of Elkins, Evelena Taylor and Maxine Metz, both of Mill Creek and Loretta Martin of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death were three brothers.

Leon attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed for over 30 years as general manager for the Wendy’s Restaurant in Elkins prior to his retirement. Leon loved his family and nature. He enjoyed walking, fishing, shooting pool and horseshoes. He was a man of faith and a member of Jubilee Outreach Ministries.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the funeral home chapel. Apostle Harold Swecker and Pastor Deborah Swecker will officiate, and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
