Edwin “Berry” Taylor, 75, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, July 24, 2017, at home, surrounded by family and under the care of West Virginia Caring.

Berry was born Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1942, in Elkins, a son of the late Walter Delbert Taylor and Marguerite Riffle Tanner.

On March 24, 1962, in Adrian, he married the former Patricia Tenney, who survives in Elkins.

Also left to cherish his memory are two sons, Mark Allen Taylor and wife, Linda, of Wimauma, Florida, and Greg Anthony Taylor and fiancee, Heather Smith, of Elkins; three grandchildren, Brandon, Eddie and Jessica; five great-grandchildren, Maci, Krista, Melodie, Charlie and Jacob; and five siblings, Walter Reed Taylor, Roy Taylor, Regina Wheeler, Jackie Carper and Barbara Erny.

Preceding Berry in death besides his parents was one grandson, Michael Taylor; and his maternal grandparents who raised him, Charles and Maggie Riffle.

Berry was a graduate of Elkins High School. He had been employed as an accountant for Peoples Drug Store. Following that, he started his own home improvement business called A 2 Z Designs. Berry liked hunting, fishing and exercising. He also enjoyed the artistic side of painting and wood working. Berry was a member of the Church of Christ in Bretz.

Berry’s request for cremation was honored. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Saturday, Aug. 5, from 2-3 p.m., the funeral hour. Kerry Kincaid will officiate.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made, in Berry’s memory, to WV Caring, 169 Diamond St., Elkins, WV 26241.
