Alice Bernadine Jones Cutlip, 89, a resident of Mill Creek and more recently Clarksburg, passed from this life Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital’s Hospice unit in Morgantown and under the care of West Virginia Caring.

Alice was born Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1928, in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late William Lester Jones and Catherine Alberta Russell Jones.

On Feb. 7, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, she married James W. “Buster” Cutlip, who preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are nine children, William J. Cutlip of Ohio, Mary Alice Stewart and husband, Jim, of Ohio, Frances Young and husband, Jerry, of Scott Depot, Lois Vanscoy and husband, Allen, of Dailey, Cecelia Simmons and husband, Jerry, of Huttonsville, Terry Cutlip and wife, Lori, of Ohio, Susan Larosa and husband, Jim, of Virginia, Renee Prozillo and husband, Ray, of Florida, and Ronald Cutlip and wife, Cynthia, of Clarksburg, 13 grandsons, four granddaughters, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, William Jones of Maryland.

Preceding Alice in death, besides her parents and husband, was one granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Simmons.

Alice graduated high school in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother of nine children. Alice had several hobbies including, crossword puzzles, board games, reading and crocheting. She enjoyed watching NASCAR races on TV. Her favorite TV show was the Young and Restless soap opera. Alice would make her lunch and put out an imaginary do not disturb sign for that hour. Alice was Catholic by faith and had been attending St. James Church in Clarksburg.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Friday from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mr. Raymond Godwin will officiate, and interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery.
