Nancy Carol Lawson Rosier, 67, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Sunday evening, Sept. 17, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of West Virginia Hospice of Buckhannon.

She was born Saturday, Nov. 5, 1949, at Richlands, Virginia, a daughter of the late Louie Crocket and Delphia V. Harrison Lawson.

On June 28, 1980, at Baltimore, Maryland, she was married to Arthur Wayne Rosier, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Glenn Sherman Bender and wife, Tina, of Beverly; one daughter, Theresa Lynn Bender and companion, Brian, of Dundalk, Maryland; three brothers, James Lawson and wife, Betty, of Brandy, Virginia, David Lawson and wife, Rhonda, of Virginia, and Timothy Lawson and wife, Becky, of North Carolina; six sisters, Mattie Bolyard of Maryland, Linda Detamore, Joyce Hoanaker, Sylvia Rucker, Lisa Faye Lawson and Rhonda Lawson, all of Virginia; five grandchildren, Ashley, Haley, Garret, Travis and Tessa; and four great-grandchildren. Dustin, J’Quan, Kamya and Jaiden.

Preceding her in death are three brothers, Louie C. “Sonny” Lawson Jr., Dennis E. Lawson and Nelson T. Lawson; and two sisters, Phyllis A. Jeter and Pat Waldron.

Nancy attended the schools of Richlands, Virginia, was a homemaker, had worked as a waitress for various restaurants, had worked at a packing company in Baltimore, Maryland, for several years and later at the Elkins Bowling Recreation Center. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling and belonging to a bowling league and holiday parties for the kids.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mike House will officiate, and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins.
