Olive Louise Sines Blough


Olive Louise Sines Blough, 87, a former resident of Elkins, went home to be with her Savior, Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village in Boonsboro, Maryland. She lived with her daughter, Anita Taulton, and her family, from 2009 until 2016, when she moved to Fahrney-Keedy.

She was born Saturday, Nov. 30, 1929, at Swallow Falls, Maryland, a daughter of the late Lester and Iva Mae Friend Sines.

On Sept. 23, 1967, she was married to the Rev. Walter Harold Blough, who preceded her in death Dec. 9, 2009.

Surviving are one son, Charles W. “Chuck” Blough and his wife, Laura, of Lovettsville, Virginia; one daughter, Anita Taulton and husband, Rob, of Jefferson, Maryland; and three grandchildren, Samuel, Zach and Noah.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one granddaughter, Hannah; six brothers, Stanley “Lee,” Loyd Dennis, Elmer Roy, Kenneth Allen, Cecil Ray and Elmo Darrell.

She was a homemaker, and her late husband, Walter, pastored the Elkins Church of the Brethren for two decades.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Sunday, Sept. 24, from 5-8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Monday at 11 a.m. The Revs. Mark and Ladeana Teets will officiate, and interment will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Beverly.
