Robert Eugene Blake

Dr. Robert Eugene Blake, 49, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017.

He was born June 12, 1968, in Clarksburg, a son of Eugene Blake of Shinnston and the late Lynne Harrison Blake.

On Aug. 10, 1991, he married Terri Hash, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Camden Blake of Buckhannon; one daughter, Carsen Blake of Buckhannon; one brother, Chuck Blake and wife, Charity, of Shinnston; and one sister, Polly Snyder and husband, Bucky, of Clarksburg.

Dr. Blake served in the U.S. Army at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis Washington from 1997 to 2001. He graduated from West Virginia University Medical School in 1994 and completed his emergency medicine residency and served as the chief resident at WVU. Dr. Blake has been a board certified emergency medicine physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon since 2001 and has served as the chief of the emergency department, chief of staff and on the board of directors. He was a Cub Scout leader from Pack 100 and was a soccer coach, He also loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.

Friends will be received Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 4-9 p.m. at the Mountain View Event Center, located at 2 Billingsley Drive, Buckhannon. From U.S. 33 turn on to the Brushy Fork road toward the car dealerships. Turn right into the Jenkins dealership and proceed up the hill. The event center will be on the right-hand side beside Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
