Ruth Kathryn “Katie” Ratliff Ricottilli, 89, a resident of the Kingsville community and a resident of the Colonial Place, Elkins, departed this life Thursday morning, Sept. 21, 2017, at the Colonial Place, with her family by her side and under the care of Mountain Hospice.

She was born Monday, March 12, 1928, at Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Hughart “Jake” and Zenna Fidler Ratliff.

On April 19, 1945, she was married to Armand Nicholas Ricottilli Sr., who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Donald Nelson Ricottilli of Kingsville; two sisters, Emma Jean Cross of Morgantown and Ima Jean Goodwin of Buckhannon; three grandchildren, Anthony Ricottilli and wife, Shelley, Jeff Ricottilli and wife, Brandi, all of Kingsville, and Wayne Ricottilli and wife, Erin, of Irmo, South Carolina; and six great-grandchildren, Devan, Kaeli, Celia, Katelyn, Chloe and Caroline Ricottilli.

Preceding her in death are one son, Armand Nicholas Ricottilli Jr.; and two brothers, Billy J. Ratliff and Jimmy Lee Ratliff.

She attended the schools of Barbour and Upshur counties. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Church. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Lady’s Guild and was in charge of salads at the spaghetti dinners. She was a member of TOPS and the Kingsville Extension Homemakers. She was the first “Raindrop” in the first Strawberry Festival. She enjoyed knitting and was an excellent cook.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Monday from 5-8 p.m., with a Prayer Service to be recited at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Sept. 26, Mrs. Ricottilli will be moved to Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton, where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father John Chapin Engler Jr. will officiate, and interment will follow at the Saint Vincent’s Cemetery at the Kingsville Community.

The family suggests that memorial contributions to St. Patrick’s Lady’s Guild, in care of Saint Patrick’s Church, 200 Church St., Coalton, WV 26257.
