He had lived in Bristol, Virginia, but spent the last four months in Parkersburg, near his sister, Susie Casto, who coordinated his care at Ohio Valley Health Care while he recovered from numerous injuries sustained in a vehicular accident on May 29.

He was born April 25, 1951, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Leonard Perry and Ella Elizabeth Sandy Mick.

He is survived by one son, Justin Mick of Buckhannon; three sisters, Grace Douty and husband, Dale, of Salem, Ohio, Mary Lou Allman of Richwood and Susie Cato and husband, Pete, of Washington; one brother, Ralph Mick and wife, Nancy, of Mechanicsville, Maryland; several nieces and nephews, and his “chemo buddy,” Debbie Mick of Rock Cave.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Jackson; one brother, Bud Mick; an infant sister, Isabelle Mick; and an infant brother, Roy Mick.

For over 40 years Mr. Mick worked in the coal, oil and gas industries, most recently at EnerVest in Abingdon, Virginia. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia. Mr. Mick took great pleasure in riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles over the years, whether it was seeing the country he loved or for a special charity or the Toys for Tots Santa rides; watching the “good old” western movies; classic cars, especially his own Corvette; traveling, his many dogs over the years, hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

Friends will be received Friday, Oct. 6, from 10-11 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Heaston United Methodist Church cemetery in Crawford.
