Thomas Lewis Bright
Thomas Lewis Bright, 74, a resident of Elkins, passed away Sunday evening, Oct. 15, 2017, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1943, in Elkins, a son of the late Harvey Lewis Bright and the late Myrtle Louise Gibson Bright.
He was twice married, First, to Nancy Haller who survives in Elkins, and currently to Edith Jo Anne Miller Roane Bright, who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving are one daughter, Lisa D. Chis of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; one son, Thomas Jackson Bright, and wife, Carol Lane Bright of Elkins. Two stepsons, Gregory Roane of Charleston, South Carolina, and Darrell Roane of Summerset, Kentucky; one brother, Richard Bright of Fairmont; and seven grandchildren, Megan Bright, Kirsten, Lincoln, Landon, Tyler, Christopher and Elizabeth Roane, also survive.
Also preceding him in death was one granddaughter, Desiree Knapp.
Mr. Bright attended the schools of Randolph County, was employed as a welder for various companies for many years and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways Bridge Division. He was a former member of Elkins Lodge No. 108 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He enjoyed restoring antique cars and in earlier years he enjoyed dirt track racing and drag racing.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 18, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Walter Cardenas officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Maplewood Mausoleum.
