Loretta Elsie Mayor Adams

ADAMS

Loretta Elsie Mayor Adams, 80, of the Red Rock Road, Buckhannon, died at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, under the care of her daughter and West Virginia Hospice.

She was born on April 29, 1937, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Michael Joseph and Julia Lajos Mayor.

She was preceded in death, in 1989, by her husband, Anthony “Tony” F. Adams.

She is survived by one daughter, Maria “MariJo” Adams of Buckhannon; one son, Robert Joseph Price Sr. of Buckhannon; two grandchildren, Nikayla Maria Adams-Lowther and Robert Joseph Price Jr.; and half sister, June Solnik.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Mayor.

Loretta Adams owned and operated the Prospector, a weekly classified ad publication, for over 40 years. She was the best example of what a mother, a wife, a grandmother, a friend and child of God should ever be. She loved unconditionally and gave generously without wanting anything in return. Strangers were treated like family by her and were always welcomed into her home. She was a faithful Catholic and parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Loretta was to many an angel on earth, and now she will be our angel in heaven.

The family will receive friends today, Nov. 24, from noon to 2 p.m. and again from 4-6 p.m., with a Prayer Service beginning at 4 p.m. at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel, 940 Route 20 South Road, Buckhannon. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 35 Franklin St., Buckhannon, with the Rev. Fr. Joseph McLaughlin, S.M. as celebrant. Following the Mass, the body will be cremated.
