Lenora Marie Daft Lloyd


Lenora Marie Daft Lloyd, 93, a native of Dailey and a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday morning, Nov. 12, 2017, at the Franklin Square Medical Center at Baltimore, Maryland, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Seasons Hospice.

She was born Friday, March 7, 1924, at Coalton, a daughter of the late Wilburn Newton and Anna Grace Tacy Daft.

On May 28, 1940 at Monterey, Virginia, she was married to Ray A. Lloyd, who preceded her in death Feb. 4, 2000. They had celebrated 59 years of marriage.

She was a loving and wonderful wife, and mother to their four children, Lana Johnston and husband, Jack, of Baltimore, Maryland, Larry Lloyd and wife, Patricia, of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Alan Lloyd of Baltimore, Maryland, and Stephen Lloyd and wife, Jane, of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania. Lenora was a very loving and kind grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Bill Daft of Dailey; and one sister, Anna Mae Weese of Dailey.

Preceding her in death are four brothers, Carl, Willis, Clair “Bud” and David Lee Daft; and six sisters, Viola, Leola, Lillian, Loretta, Vonda Jean and Margorie.

She loved her family, gardening, Christmas decorations, word search books and most of all her Lord and Savior.

I know this love would always last

Like the stars above the dell,

And though our lots be separate cast

In heaven there’s no farewell.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. The Rev. A.H. Belt will officiate, and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
