Lois Gail Kalar

Lois Gail Kalar, 81, a resident of Montrose, passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, in the Davis Medical Center.

She was born April 25, 1936, at Montrose, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Dorothy Chenoweth Smith.

She was married to Kenneth R. Kalar, who preceded her in death in May 1994.

She is survived by one daughter, Inetta Fluharty and husband, Terry, of Montrose; one son, Monty Kalar and wife, Cathy, of Montrose; one brother, Howard E. Smith and wife, Jan, of Warner Robbins, Georgia; and two grandsons, Lane Kalar and Ethan Arbogast.

Gail worked for the West Virginia University Extension Service as a 4-H Program Aid for many years prior to her retirement. She later worked for Stevens Florist in Parsons for many years. Gail was an active member of the 4-H, the Rebekah Lodge of Montrose and Israel United Methodist Church.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Alicia Randolph Rapking officiating. Interment will follow in the Israel Cemetery at Kerens.
