William Anthony Steffick

William Anthony Steffick, 91, of Arlington, Virginia, formerly of Little River, South Carolina, and Beckley, passed away peacefully with family by his side in Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

He was the loving husband of 62 years to Betty; beloved father of Alisa Henderson (Jeffrey), William “Bill” Anthony Steffick II (Debra) and Sarah A. Steffick; and grandfather of Dr. Kourtney Houser (Justin), William Anthony Steffick III and Cody Coffman Steffick.

William was a proud member of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during World War II. His military service led to his enjoyment of flying private aircrafts. From 1951-1981, he proudly served as a West Virginia state police officer. After his retirement from the West Virginia state police, he worked with the West Virginia Department of Labor from 1981 until his permanent retirement in 1989, when he became a full-time golfer and took great pleasure in traveling with his wife.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held Saturday, May 26.
