Laylah Quinn Shaffer

Laylah Quinn Shaffer, fought hard for 7 months before she passed from this life Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins. She was born with congenital heart problems which affects one out of every 100 babies born and is the leading birth defect in newborns.

Laylah was born Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, in Morgantown, a daughter of Charlie Shaffer Jr. and Vanessa Andrea Scott, who survive in Montrose.

Also left to cherish her memory are her maternal grandparents, George Scott and Vicky Tallman; and her paternal grandparents, Charlie Shaffer Sr. and Diane Shaffer, one brother, Charlie Austin Shaffer; aunts and uncles, Andrew and Jonathan Shaffer, Lacey Marstiller, Ryan Scott, Coren and Silas Scott.

“Princess Laylah” as she was known to all those who cared for her, was always smiling even through the multiple open heart surgeries she underwent during her life.

The family’s request for cremation will be honored, and there will be a private celebration of Laylah’s life.
