Alma Thompson Crawford

Alma Thompson Crawford, 94, a resident of Kingsville, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the Davis Medical Center.

She was born June 12, 1924, at Glady, a daughter of the late Dennis A. and Nancy Rhodes Thompson.

On Oct. 11, 1948, she was married to Maurice C. Crawford Sr., who preceded her in death Feb. 15, 2010.

She is survived by two sons, Maurice C. Crawford Jr., and wife, Sandra, of the Talbott Road and Dennis B. Crawford and wife, Lisa, of Elkins; four daughters, Carolyn S. Ricottilli of the Kingsville community, Sharon K. George and husband, Donald, of Buckhannon, Linda D. Shreve of the Talbott Road and Kathryn F. Lock and husband, Michael, of Elkins; one son-in-law, Edward Hardy of Parsons; one sister-in-law, Betty Thompson of Glady; grandchildren, Anthony Ricottilli and wife, Shelley, Jeff Ricottilli and wife, Brandi, Wayne Ricottilli and wife Erin, Mark George and wife, Candy, Kelli Marsh and husband, Jay, Angela Hess and husband, Bill, Connie Williams and husband, Jimmy, Melissa Kennedy and husband, Alan, Jason Hardy and wife, Kelly, Eric Lock and wife, Dalsey, Wesley Crawford and wife, Lea, and Caleb Crawford; and great-grandchildren, Devan, Kaeli, Celia, Katelyn, Chloe and Caroline Ricottilli, Corbin George, Morgan and Ryli Marsh, Emmalyn Hess and Owen Hess who is due soon, Dustin and Brianna Williams, Haley Kennedy, Alex Lock, Emilee Mearns, Gemma Crawford and Maddox Crawford.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Deborah J. Hardy; three brothers, Herbert, Ray and Gerald Thompson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lola Davis and husband; Clinton, Thelma Wimer and husband; Russ; and one great-grandson, Brandon L. George.

Alma was a school bus operator with the Randolph County Board of Education and retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Randolph County Retired School Employees, the Kingsville Homemakers Club and the Talbott United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Clarence Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery.
