Elvin Lee Gibson

Mr. Elvin Lee Gibson, 70, a resident of Belington, departed this life, Monday, June 18, 2018, in Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. Death was following a period of declining health, but death was unexpected.

He was born Sept. 2, 1947, at Belington, a son of the late Taswell and Edna Meral Gibson.

On April 20, 1972, he was united in marriage to the former Sally Jane Weese, who survives at their home in Belington.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Tonda M. Trader and husband, Mike, and Amanda Lynn Everson and fiance, Adam Hinchman, all of Belington and Lori Ann Wilmoth and husband, Eric, of Italy; four sisters, Norma Golden and husband, Danny, Patricia Weese and husband, Joseph, Opal Sheridan and Geraldine Keesucker and husband, Arnold; and four grandchildren, Bruce and Copper Trader, Lucas Everson and Donovan Wilmoth. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Wanda Jenkins, Elva Hymes, Gene Thorne and Mary Lanham; and three brothers, Herman Gibson, William Lee Gibson and Myron Gibson.

Elvin attended the schools of Barbour County and was a farmer and a timber cutter.

He was a Protestant by faith. He loved his horses and going to horse trade reunions. He enjoyed riding his tractor and working on his farm. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home, 56 N. Brandenburg St. in Belington on Thursday, June 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating. Interment will then follow in the Trinity Cemetery near Belington.
