Rita C. Wilson
Rita Carol Wilson, 75, a resident of Philippi, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, in Ruby Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Rita was born Aug. 23, 1942, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Howard and Luella (Huffman) Miller.
Rita was united in marriage, on July 31, 1960, to Gale R. Wilson, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2003.
Surviving is a daughter, Carol L. Harris and husband, James, of Junior; a son, Randall “Radar” Wilson of Philippi; sisters, Wanda Lea Moore and husband, Glenn, of Valley Furnace and Pamela Dumire and husband, Kenneth, of Tallmadge, Ohio; brother, Paul Miller and wife, Betty, of Valley Furnace; grandsons, Brett Harris of Fairmont and Ramie Harris and wife, Shkeyna, of Junior; and great-granddaughter, Emma Harris of Fairmont
Rita retired as a teacher’s aide from Barbour County Schools with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Junior Lion’s Club, Haven of Hope Relay for Life Team and New Hope Valley United Methodist Church. She was very crafty and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and embroidering. Rita was an avid gardener and enjoyed mowing and tending to her yard.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 220 N. Walnut St. in Philippi on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the service hour. Interment will follow in the New Hope Valley Cemetery.
