Catherine ‘Katy’ Marshall-Fidler


Catherine “Katy” Marie Marshall-Fidler passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, in the Kearneysville, West Virginia Hospice Inpatient Facility.

Katy was born November 1950 in Ely, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Marvin and Rose Mary Marshall of Elkins. As a child in a Forest Service family, she lived in many beautiful locations across our country.

Katy was a 1968 graduate of Elkins High School and went on to receive her arts degree from West Virginia University. She was a well-known artist who traveled West Virginia and beyond, displaying her prints at fairs and art galleries. More recently Katy was a real estate broker for Dan Ryan Builders in Charles Town.

Katy is survived by Art and Mary Marshall of Canton, Georgia, Sandra Marshall of Mansfield Place in Philippi, John and Sheila Marshall of Elkins, Sally Marshall and Cory Fidler of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Paul Marshall of Lubbock, Texas, along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Katy’s life will be held Sept. 23 from 2-5 p.m. at the Randolph County Arts Center on Harrison Avenue in Elkins.
