D.E. ‘Jack’ Kelley

KELLEY

D.E. “Jack” Kelley, 81, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at home surrounded by family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.

Jack was born Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1936, in Norton, a son of the late Charles E. Kelley and Cloris M. Courtney Kelley.

In August of 1974, he married the former Doris White, who survives at home.

Left to cherish his memory are three children, Ronald E. Kelley and companion, Patricia, Patti Weese and husband, Dennie, all of Elkins, and Rusty Doerr and wife, Carolyn, of Morgantown; special granddaughter, Brianna Jack and husband Brad; special great-grandchildren, Dalton and Brayden Jack; grandchildren, Dustin Doerr and wife, Morgan, Devin and Derek Doerr, Garrett Weese and companion, Kenna, Jamie Cox and companion, Kevin, Chasity Kelley-Watson and Allyson Kelley; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale Kelley and companion, Mabel, of Ohio, Darl “Tim” Kelley and wife, Gloria, and Dorsey “Bunny” Kelley; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jack in death besides his parents was one daughter, Terri Kelley; one granddaughter, Jaime Moore; and one sister, Doris Shiflett.

Jack attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed as a mechanic for several local Ford garages. He was co-owner of T & K Auto in Elkins with Delbert Tallman. In 1995, he retired as the owner and operator of Jack Kelley Auto Service in Elkins. Jack enjoyed camping with the boys, corn roasts and was an avid gardener. He loved attending Orange Blossom Music Hall in Jane Lew and listening to Johnny Cochran on the fiddle and spending time with special friends Johnny Cochran and Clyde Wilson.

Jack’s request for cremation will be honored. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
