Opal V. Ware
Mrs. Opal Virginia Nestor Ware, 98, a resident of Belington and more recently a resident of the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center, departed this life Thursday evening, Nov. 29, 2018 in the care facility. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born May 27, 1920, at the Sand Run Community in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Solomon Kingdom and Maudie Sturms Nestor.
She was twice married, first to Clarence Booth, who preceded her in death. Secondly on Feb. 12, 1965, she was united in marriage to Odbert Charles Ware, who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2008.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Charles L. Ware of Greenville, South Carolina, and Clarence Junior Booth and wife Paula of Belington.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Rose Marie Perry, Rebecca Easterling, Sherri Booth Turany, Christa Kay Booth Huffman, Gabriel Ware, Elizabeth Renee Ware and Conner Ware; nine great grandchildren, Robert Perry, Shawn Perry, Chassidy Perry, Ashley Craycraft, Damion Booth, Clayton and Brandon Duke and Tegan and Carsyn Ware.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, James Edward Booth; three grandchildren, Nancy Craycraft, Wayne Edward Booth and John Edwin Booth; and five sisters, Dessie Phillips, Bessie Wilhite, Dorothy Knight, Nellie Trimble and Ethel Nestor; four brothers, Porter Nestor, Gilbert Nestor, Oakey Nestor and Jesse Nestor; and one half-brother, Claude Ramsey.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Opal attended the schools of Barbour County, was a homemaker and was a member of the Belington Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Belington OES Chapter 68 and presently a member of the Philippi OES Chapter 41, a former member of the Tygart Valley Rebekah Lodge 181 and a member of the AM Legion Auxiliary Unit 96 of Belington.
She was a loving and caring mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends were received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 and again on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018. from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Rich Cardot officiating. Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington.
