Rev. Robert L. Lowther
The Rev. Robert L. Lowther, 89, a resident of the Chenoweth Creek Community, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at his home under the care of West Virginia Caring.
He was born March 16, 1929, at Clarksburg, a son of the late Pearl William and Rosalee Boone Lowther.
On October 9, 1954, at Winchester, Virginia, he was married to Edith Lucille Snopps Lowther, who survives at their home.
Also surviving is one grandson, Michael Dyer and wife Kelli; and great granddaughters, Audrie and Leah, all of Elkins.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Leon and Don, his twin sister Betty and sister Geraldine.
Rev. Lowther was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
He was a well-known minister and an avid outdoorsman.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, Dece. 4, 2018, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
On Wednesday, Dec. 5, he will be moved to the Coon’s Run Baptist Church near Shinnston for visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour.
Rev. Thomas Horn will officiate and interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at Mt. Clare.
