CUNNINGHAM

David Eugene Cunningham, 75, a resident of Beverly, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, with his family by his side.

He was born Jan. 6, 1944, at Norton, a son of Rachel Louise Cunningham Barkley, who survives in Elkins at the age of 100.

On Nov. 28, 1963, he was married to Mary Ellen Sites Cunningham, who survives at Beverly.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cathy Kalar and husband Monty of Montrose and Sandra Daniels and husband Ron of Elkins. One grandson, Lane Kalar, a half brother, Bill Barkley of Whitmer, brothers-in-law whom he loved like brothers, Earl, Richard, Ward, Bruce and Wade Sites, several nieces and nephews and special uncle, John Cunningham and wife Carolyn of Whitmer also survive.

Also preceding him in death were his stepfather Mack Barkley, grandparents, John and Ida Cunningham, his mother and father-in-law, Curtis and Mamie Sites and brother-in-law Guy Sites.

Mr. Cunningham attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed as a core maker at Kelly Foundry for over 56 years prior to his retirement in July of 2018. Mr. Cunningham was a Protestant by faith. He was a good husband, father and grandfather. The Cunningham’s resided near Beverly for 55 years where they enjoyed maintaining a nice lawn, cutting wood, gardening and hunting. He enjoyed watching Westerns on television.

A private service was held for Mr. Cunningham at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins with Julie Dean officiating. Interment followed in the Beverly Cemetery.

The family request memorial contributions are made to the Beverly United Methodist Church, 517 Route 219, Beverly, WV 26253 in memory of Mr. Cunningham.
