Teddy B. McPaters, 87, of Huntersville, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 15, 1931, at Cass, he was a son of the late Roy M. and Abbie N. Beverage McPaters.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Helen McPaters, Alma McPaters, Virginia Shrader and Eleanor Broyles, and one brother, Oliver McPaters.

Teddy was of the Methodist faith, a Korean Army veteran and owner of Brills Exxon Service Center.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Burgess McPaters, son, David McPaters, daughter, Sarah McPaters Gibson and husband Duane, all of Huntersville, two granddaughters, Amanda Gibson of Charleston and Kayla Gibson, Huntersville, one brother, Bill McPaters of Hayes, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at the Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Pastor Sam Felton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Friday from noon until time of services at the Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye.
