Vera M. Warner


Vera Madera Warner, 94, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at her home.

She was born on Oct. 23, 1924, in Job, the daughter of the late Omar and Ethel (Day) White.

Vera married Arlie Warner, who preceded her in death in 2002.

Ms. Warner attended school in Job and Harman, and she was a Methodist by faith. She was a hardworker and retired from General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio. She also helped operate the family farm and had worked as a welder in the shipyard in Baltimore, Maryland during World War II.

Ms. Warner is survived by: a daughter, Sandra Jo Cooper (Wilmoth) of Harman; a son, Roland L. Warner (Diana) of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Kevin, Rex and Trenton Warner and Harrison Cooper; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Ed White; and four sisters, Haley Toss, Dessie Fox, Naomi Carr and Jo Koshock.

Ms. Warner’s body has been cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date, with burial of cremains in the White Family Cemetery in Job.
