Authority of county leaders is questioned
With the establishment of the Fire Service Fee, the fire departments have moved from being tax dependent to being a paid public service.
I, for one, question the county’s authority to force county residents to subscribe to any public service.
There is wording in the West Virginia Code I believe can be interpreted to relieve people of this unnecessary burden.
Anyone with a like mind should pose their questions to the Randolph County Commission and their concerns to the State Attorney General. Demand accountability.
