Amendment on ballot

This November, the people of West Virginia will be able to decide whether or not taxpayer dollars should be used to fund elective abortions. Amendment 1 will be included on the ballot to determine this.

Over the years, the state of West Virginia has paid for abortion on demand with nearly $10,000,000 of our tax dollars for nearly 35,000 elective abortions for the entire nine months of pregnancy for any reason or no reason at all.

If Amendment 1 passes, it will not prevent women from obtaining abortions. Abortions will still be available in West Virginia, but our tax dollars will no longer pay for them except in the cases of the life of the mother, medical emergency, rape and incest, or fetal anomaly.

West Virginia is one of only 17 states in the nation that require taxpayer funding of abortion. This is the most important pro-life vote in the history of West Virginia. If you do not want your tax dollars to pay for abortions in West Virginia, then please vote “yes” on Amendment 1 on Nov. 6.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
