MSFF Opening Ceremony

October 1, 2012 - John Zirbs
It was a wonderful day for the Mountain State Forest Festival Opening Ceremony this morning. Mark Tomblyn, president of the Festival, welcomed everybody to the 76th Festival. Lydia Wagner Jones welcomed the royal court and the Maids of Honor Megan Nida and Emily Thompson. The students from Jennings Randolph Elementary School performed the National Anthem and "It's Forest Festival Time." Mike Karlen, director general, gave a welcome to everybody and he read quotes from Walt Disney. He presented the assistant directors with a maple leaf for their work in preparing for this year's 76th MSFF.

As " Mr. Forest Festival" I like to welcome all the visitors who come to Elkins for a week of fun and excitement. So, have a fun time this week! Thank You!
