WWE Monday Night Raw 20th Anniversary
January 14, 2013 - John Zirbs
Monday Night Raw started in 1993 and is celebrating 20 years of great action in the ring. Michael Cole and Jerry "the King" Lawler called the action at ringside.
The Rock is slated to perform "The Rock Concert" tonight. His real name is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and he will face C.M. Punk for the WWE title at the Royal Rumble at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Raw was live at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. It started at the Manhattan Center in New York City in 1993.
The Chairman of the Board of the WWE, Mr. McMahon welcomed everyone to the 20th anniversary of Monday Night Raw. 4 billion viewers enjoyed Raw. The Big Show showed up and was disgruntled after losing the title to Alberto Del Rio on Smackdown. Booker T is jealous of the Big Show, then Alberto Del Rio with his ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez came out to address the crowd. Del Rio faced The Big Show at the Royal Rumble for the World Heavyweight Title. Rodriguez threw confetti at the Big Show.
John Cena will face Dolph Ziggler in a Steel Cage Match. Inter-Continental Champion Wade Barrett goes against the Apex Preditor Randy Orton in an opening match. They flashbacked some of the memories of Raw. I saw Bob Barker was a guest host, with The Price Is Raw. When he had on Chris Jericho and Chavo Guerrero, Bob Barker also won a Slammy Award from the WWE for being guest host of the year.
Raw has been in 197 arenas over the years. Wade Barrett used the ball hammer move to get the pin on Orton.
