Valerie Ann Wood and Patrick Brian Matheny were married at 2 p.m. June 6 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mechanicsville, Md., with the Rev. Peter R. Alliata officiating. The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Marilyn Wood of Mechanicsville. She is the granddaughter of Raymond Raley of Mechanicsville and the late Catherine Raley, and Doris Wood of Mechanicsville and the late Herman Wood Jr. She is a graduate of Towson University and is a business and financial manager at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington, Park, Md. The bridegroom is the son of Jerry and Judy Matheny of Durbin. He is the grandson of Marie Nottingham of Durbin and the late Lester Nottingham, and Bonnie Matheny of Bartow and the late Ted Matheny. He is a graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology and is an electrical engineer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
