LORAINE MORAN
Loraine Moran of Elkins, formerly of Kerens, marked her 85th birthday by climbing to the top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and to the top of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse in North Carolina’s Outer Banks. She was born July 10, 1923, the daughter of the late William and Lavinia Hornbeck Poling. In 1943, she married John Moran Jr., who died in 1956. She has three daughters, Linda Collins of Arizona, Greta Kuhl of Ohio and Vera Hammond of North Carolina. She also has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Accompanying Mrs. Moran on the Outer Banks were Linda Collins, Jimmy, Jonathan, Logan and Delaney Collins of Arizona; Carole Surgent of New Jersey; Karan, Sam and Jack Larlee of Massachusetts; Cathi and PJ Champino of Florida; Vera, Bob and John Robert Hammond of North Carolina; Greta and Kenna Kuhl, and Cindy, John, Tori and Lexi Hall of Ohio.
