Strawberry Belle
STRAWBERRY BELLE — Mae Collins of Buckhannon, a member of the Modern Homettes CEOS Club, was selected as the 2008 Strawberry Belle. She is the mother of eight children. She also has 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She has served as a senior companion since October 1989 and enjoys helping other people. She is also an election poll worker. Collins is a member of the DAV Auxiliary, Buckhannon Young at Heart Lions Club and the Newlon Church. She enjoys reading and watching television.
Channel 3 Carrying Festival Events
The West Virginia Strawberry Festival recently announced that local access station Channel 3 will broadcast several events during festival week. Channel 3 will provide a live broadcast of the Junior Royalty Parade at 6:30 p.m.
