The greatest majority of people who have landlines these days are the elderly who are on fixed incomes. I have a landline with Frontier and pay $15.65 per month. The cost for the phone service is $7. The other $8.65 are taxes and fees. I'm getting rid of my landline for a tracfone which costs as little as $10 a month and no landline-type fees. Good job there sticking it to the elderly once again.

if you up the fee more people will drop there land lines and no more revenue will actually be relized. Furthermore it will be the poorer residents of the county who dont have cell phones that will be taxed more once again taking more away from the less fortunate of the area

I want to know what they did with the thousands of dollars they stole from Upshur County residents over the last several years tacked on their phone bill for the Enhanced 911 Service that didn't exist. The enhanced service was supposed to supply information like directions their the caller's home, medicines they take, relatives to call in case of an emergency and other vital information. Upshur Country residents paid the fee, but didn't receive the services it was supposed to fund. To this day, the new 911 address program has not been implemented, and judging by the way they are handling it, emergency responders will still be roaming around hunting a person's home while the patient dies from their inability to follow through with what they start. They have road names mixed up so bad, no one will be able to find their destination.
